Elena and Javier celebrated their wedding in Havana, at the same church where her grandparents were married. A romantic ceremony, filled with color and carrying great significance for the couple and their families.
The ceremony took place at San Juan de Letrán church, followed by a delightful celebration at La Divina Pastora within the historic San Carlos de La Cabaña fortress. This charming garden venue with mesmerizing sea views was handpicked by the couple for a magical Caribbean evening that lingered well into the dawn.
The religious temple was adorned in green and white floral arrangements. The entrance stairs and main door made a striking impression on guests. Inside, cascading floral designs for the pews, altar area, and side aisles achieved the elegant and delicate look the couple envisioned, embracing Cuban flair with the foliage selection.
The garden at La Divina Pastora was meticulously customized to create a vibrant tropical ambiance for this destination wedding. The alpinias, heliconias, and lush foliage, along with exotic fruits like pineapples, took center stage in the decor. Guests were treated to not only breathtaking views of Havana Bay and the Malecón but also had cozy corners to savor the traditional "café carretero," a staple of Cuban coffee culture. Additionally, designated areas were set up for guests to indulge in rum-based cocktails and enjoy the authentic experience of smoking Cuban cigars.
Live music also had its place in the celebration, a personalized dance floor with the wedding monogram, stilt walkers in colorful and vibrant costumes, and an authentic Cuban menu. The day was undoubtedly memorable for the approximately 200 guests who came from various parts of the world.
Some standout moments that we never fail to mention include the couple's arrival at the church in stunning vintage American cars, as well as their charming tour around the city on a motorcycle with a sidecar.
