ToggleBridal Makeup Trial: Importance
When we started Aire de Fiesta, we were exclusively dedicated to event decoration. The makeup trial, the bride's preparations, or the prior logistics were not part of our services. However, at every wedding, we witnessed situations that affected the brides, and although they were not our responsibility, they left us with a bitter taste.
Those experiences motivated us to expand our services and take on comprehensive coordination, to ensure that every detail—including makeup, preparation times, and prior organization—was under control and to avoid unnecessary setbacks.
Although it may seem like a minor detail, the impact can be huge. As it gets dark, the perfect light of the sunset is lost, affecting photography, video, and the overall experience.
Delaying the entire event meant leaving the guests unattended and rushing the program. In the worst cases, this could shorten the party time if the venue or the vendors did not accept the delay. All of this "just" because the bride refused to go out without correcting her makeup.
That’s why, realizar una prueba de maquillaje a la novia se convirtió en una prioridad dentro de nuestra coordinación integral. No se trata solo de garantizar un resultado impecable, sino de prevenir contratiempos y frustraciones.
At Aire de Fiesta, we believe it’s essential for every bride to feel radiant and authentic, avoiding any makeup that might make her feel uncomfortable on such a special day.
How do we organize the makeup trial for weddings?
The process begins once our wedding planner confirms the wedding date. We create a working group with our regular stylist, Michel Rego, recognized for his professionalism and quality in the industry.
All the processes described below apply exclusively when the makeup is handled by our team. If the bride chooses to hire another makeup artist, these arrangements may vary and must be coordinated independently.
Above all, we ask the bride to share makeup and hairstyle references, as well as personal photos, which become the starting point.
Although each trial is unique, they all share a common approach: the makeup artist usually works on one eye first, creating an initial version based on the bride’s preferences. Then, on the other eye, they suggest an alternative that, in their experience, might suit her even better without straying from the original inspiration. This allows for comparing both options and deciding which one works best or whether further adjustments are needed.
How much time can the makeup trial require?
The duration of the trial depends on the complexity of the makeup and hairstyle, but it usually lasts between three and four hours. That time is essential to experiment with different styles and resolve any technical details before the wedding.
The trial can take place at the location where the bride is staying or at our venue, which has ideal lighting conditions to work with precision and ensure a perfect finish.
Practical tips for the makeup trial
- Dress in whiteChoose a white garment similar to the color of your wedding dress. This way, you can see how the makeup reflects on your skin with that tone and ensure that the result is harmonious and flattering.
- Bring your accessoriesIf you already have your accessories defined, try to bring them to the trial whenever possible. This will allow you to visualize the complete result and ensure that everything harmonizes perfectly. Otherwise, don't forget to share photos of them with your stylist as soon as you have them.
- Document the result with photos: Although the stylist will likely take some pictures, you can also do it yourself, using both natural and artificial light. This will allow you to assess how the makeup looks under different lighting conditions.
- Bring your favorite products: If you have makeup products that you regularly use, such as your lipstick or foundation, bring them with you. This ensures that the result is completely to your liking.
- Be clear about your preferences: The trial is the perfect time to express any doubts or insecurities. Don’t wait until the wedding day to mention what doesn’t convince you, as that day everything should flow smoothly.
Touch-up: another essential of wedding makeup
At Aire de Fiesta, we believe it’s essential for the bride’s makeup to look flawless, and given our climate and the fact that most ceremonies take place outdoors, touch-ups become indispensable. That’s why, in our agreement with Michel Rego, the touch-up is always included., usually right after the ceremony, to ensure the look stays fresh and flawless in the first photos and moments of the reception.
If you want the touch-up at another time during the event, such as after dinner or before the party starts, it’s important to mention it from the beginning, as well as if you want a second touch-up. This will allow us to renegotiate with Michel, as it involves additional time on his part, and we need to coordinate it properly.
It’s important to keep in mind that a touch-up should not be confused with a complete style change. If you have in mind making a significant transformation between the ceremony and the reception, that’s another aspect you should communicate to your planner and stylist. This way, we can ensure it is quoted properly and planned without any issues.
