Elena & Evgeni
A Cuban destination wedding lived through dance
To celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary, Evgeny and Elena chose Havana as the place to renew their vows. Accompanied by a group of friends who traveled from Russia, they experienced an unforgettable celebration — a Cuban destination wedding full of rhythm, history, and emotion.
Caja en blanco
A ceremony filled with history, flowers, and rhythm from the very start
Elena and Evgeny arrived together in a classic car, setting a festive tone from the very first moment of this Cuban destination wedding. Their entrance was a statement of joy: she wore a flowing dress inspired by a dancer, and he wore a tropical shirt full of color and movement. From the moment they arrived, it was clear this would be a celebration lived with both body and soul.
The ceremony was held under the arcades of the Palacio del Segundo Cabo, a historic building in Plaza de Armas. Beneath its centuries-old columns, a saxophonist played live music, filling the atmosphere with a blend of elegance, emotion, and Caribbean rhythm.
The décor featured very colorful flowers, perfectly matching the couple’s vibrant spirit. Everything, from the outfits to the floral arrangements, reflected a celebration made just for them
From the toast to the conga dancing all the way
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed tropical cocktails and champagne in the inner courtyard of the Palace. It was a relaxed moment, perfect for toasting, chatting, and taking group photos.
But the calm didn’t last long: as they stepped out of the Palace, a Cuban conga with stilt walkers, brass instruments, and drums was waiting for them. This traditional group — typical of Cuban carnivals — led the street parade, turning the cobblestone streets of Old Havana into a spontaneous celebration. To the rhythm of chants, dance steps, and Afro-Cuban percussion, they made lively stops at iconic spots like the Plaza de la Catedral.
From the saxophone at the ceremony to the street parade, this Cuban destination wedding featured live music at every moment. And it’s likely no one danced through the streets of Havana quite like Elena — radiant, light, unstoppable.
La Guarida: rooftop, dinner, and more live music
After the tour through Old Havana, a caravan of classic convertibles was waiting to continue the celebration. The ride along the Malecón was one of the most epic moments of the day: all the cars in a row, the sea on one side, the city on the other, and the guests waving in the open air, laughing, enjoying the music, and feeling the wind on their faces. The photos from that moment say it all.
The arrival at La Guarida, one of Havana’s most iconic restaurants, marked the beginning of the evening. On its stunning rooftop terrace, a traditional Cuban music group was waiting to accompany an open-air dinner — intimate, lively, and full of charm.
And as if that weren’t enough, Elena’s friends surprised everyone with an unforgettable finale: they dressed as “congueras,” each in a vibrant color, and joined the dance floor with an energy that got everyone moving.
Cuban destination wedding: rhythm, color, and emotion
Evgeny and Elena reminded us that a Cuban destination wedding is not just a symbolic ceremony. It’s a full experience — history, rhythm, color, and live music from the very first moment to the last dance.
When you celebrate surrounded by people who travel from far away just to share in your love, every moment becomes more meaningful. And if you do it dancing through the streets of Havana, riding in a convertible along the Malecón, with the city as your backdrop — the memory becomes unforgettable.
