Itzel and Randy
Returning to Cuba for Their Wedding: This Couple’s Decision
For Itzel and Randy, returning to Cuba for their wedding was both an emotional and a natural decision. His mother is here, everything started here, and Havana is still their home, even if life has taken them far away.
Itzel & Randy’s wedding at La Divina Pastora
A story that began with a little note
Itzel and Randy have known each other since childhood. They were classmates at ballet school, and he was her secret crush. Nothing happened back then, and their paths diverged when she emigrated as a teenager.
Years later, now as adults, they met again outside of Cuba. She helped him reconnect with his profession, and their bond grew naturally. During a trip to Havana, they revived one of those simple, happy childhood memories: the notes they used to pass in class with the big question, “Yes or no?”. He had never passed one to her back then—but now, he still had time. So he did. And of course, she said yes. That’s how they became a couple.
That same note became part of the wedding, framed in a small picture on the head table. It’s those personal details, the stories couples carry with them, that bring an authentic and emotional touch to every wedding.
La Divina Pastora: a spectacular wedding venue
Coming back to Cuba for their wedding was no ordinary decision. His family is here, and there were people they simply couldn’t imagine that day without. Returning meant celebrating with their loved ones, reconnecting with their story, and doing it in the place that still feels like home.
La Divina Pastora offered them a seaside garden with the city in the background. That view—with Havana as a symbolic backdrop—is exactly what many couples look for when choosing this venue. For them, it also made perfect sense.
The decoration: greenery with personality and thoughtful details
The concept of this wedding was a thoroughly designed greenery theme, from the white and green floral arch at the ceremony to the layout of the tables, lighting, and overall visual flow.
During the day, the setup was already beautiful: the altar facing the sea, the decorated chairs, the hand-painted dance floor in the center, and the dinner area arranged under black lanterns. Everything added texture and structure to the garden.
The concept was also inspired by a very personal style: the aesthetic of their own home. Rustic chic, with lots of wood, greenery, and a warm atmosphere. That identity was reflected in every element of the décor, making the space feel truly theirs.
But it was at night when the atmosphere truly peaked. Warm lights, glowing lanterns, and greenery lit from below transformed everything. The head table was framed with a design that echoed the ceremony’s structure —wood and white flowers— but now with hanging lanterns, highlighting its central place in the setup.
And among the personal details, a few that truly defined the wedding’s identity:
– The wall of hats and fans at the entrance.
– The sign featuring the bride’s favorite cocktail.
– And the little frame on the head table, with the “Yes or no?” note that marked the beginning of everything.
Private vows
Itzel and Randy decided to read their vows after the ceremony, alone, in front of the now-empty altar. No microphones, no speeches, just the two of them.
Even though reading vows during the ceremony is one of the most emotional moments, some couples choose to do it in private. Because sometimes there are things you want to say without an audience, without pauses, without protocol.
When dancing is more than just dancing
To open the dance floor, they organized a sequence of dances with their favorite people: he danced with his mom, she with her brother and then with her mom. It was a very emotional moment. A way to start the party by sharing with those who have always been there.
Later, Itzel and Randy opened the dance floor together. They’re both ballet dancers, but when it comes to Cuban rhythms, they move with a grace and flavor that’s just unreal. Watching them dance made you jealous—in sync, relaxed, and enjoying every beat. This party was made for them.
The music never stopped, and neither did the energy. It was a night lived from beginning to end, full of the joy of being back and celebrating the way only they know how.
The Aire de Fiesta experience
We truly enjoy it when a couple we’ve worked with for months —or even years— lives their wedding to the fullest. With Itzel and Randy, that’s exactly what happened.
We always tell our couples: the most important thing is to live that day intensely, because it flies by. Seeing them enjoy it from the first moment to the last, so connected to their story and their people, was also special for us.
To accompany them through the entire process and be there when everything becomes real is still the best reminder of why we do what we do.

The dress, right before it all begins
The dress hanging, soft light through the window, and that moment when it all starts to feel real

A quiet morning at Hotel El Candil
Itzel got ready at El Candil, a boutique hotel where several Aire de Fiesta brides have spent the first hours of their wedding day. An intimate, elegant space, perfect for starting the day calmly.

The design of the head table
A white floral set-up under lampposts and a rustic arch, matching the style of the ceremony.

Itzel's entrance with her father
With a beaming smile and her eyes fixed on the altar, Itzel walked arm in arm with her father. It was a moment filled with tenderness, nerves, and connection.

A kiss with Havana in the background.
Under a white floral archway and with the city always in the background, the couple sealed their ceremony with a kiss.

The trending reel that captured photos that wouldn’t exist otherwise
Part of the reel was filmed during the rehearsal, the day before. Itzel and Randy wanted to do their version of a trend they had seen: filming in the same spot wearing regular clothes and later in their wedding outfits.
As dancers, they gave it their own twist—literally. The next day, dressed up and just after the ceremony, they repeated the shot in front of the altar with a ballet-style transition. With a spin, they appeared transformed. Thanks to that reel, those photos now exist—dancer-like poses at the altar that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

A moment just for them
Right after the ceremony, Itzel and Randy stayed alone in front of the altar to read their vows in private. No witnesses—just the two of them, the camera, and Havana in the background.

The decor, even more stunning at night
If the decor already charmed us during the day, at night it was even more spectacular. Warm lights, hanging lanterns, and greenery lit from below completely transformed the space.

Light, embraces, and the first dance
The dance floor, adorned with white floral designs, was inaugurated with heartfelt embraces under a warm, glowing light. It was the perfect start to a celebration filled with emotion and beauty.

The garter moment, Itzel and Randy’s version
The entire sequence was a show. Randy danced in front of Itzel while she laughed nonstop. He made her sit down, kept up the rhythm with full energy, and after several tries —more stylish than rushed—, he finally managed to remove the garter.
A fun scene that broke every protocol. And as if that wasn’t enough, the person who caught it had their own moment: a dancer’s leap that drew loud applause.

Second look: ready for the dance floor
We loved Itzel’s styling. Without losing her bridal essence, she changed into a pantsuit that made her own the dance floor. Comfortable, confident, and ready to dance like only she can.
