WEDDINGS AT THE
DIVINA PASTORA

Why do so many couples choose to have their weddings at La Divina Pastora?

We begin this series of wedding venues in Havana with La Divina Pastora, one of our top recommendations. Its panoramic views, location facing the bay, and versatile spaces make it a hard-to-beat venue.

Hardly any other venue in the city brings together everything this space offers, and throughout the article we’ll explore why. From the ceremony to the party, there are many advantages that make it special.

The garden is the space used for the ceremony and, almost always, for the cocktail that follows. It has direct views of the bay and the city skyline, making it an ideal setting for both the ceremony and the couple’s photos.

One of the great advantages of celebrating weddings at La Divina Pastora: the covered terrace.

After the ceremony and cocktail, most weddings move to the covered terrace for dinner. It’s a long, narrow space, but very versatile — it can be styled for either elegant or rustic events. Both round tables and a large imperial table can be set up, depending on the event design. And from there, guests can continue enjoying the city view, even at night.

Additionally, this terrace works as a Plan B in case of rain — something many outdoor venues lack, and a detail that brings peace of mind when planning an open-air wedding. While not as spacious as the garden, it comfortably accommodates events of up to 100 guests. Next to the terrace, there’s another covered room that can hold up to 40 guests and be used for the party, although that’s not the most common setup.

The most spectacular option: dinner or party outdoors

Many couples, even if they have dinner on the terrace, choose to return to the garden for the party. And some decide to do everything there: dinner and celebration under the sky.

These options involve a more complex production: lighting is needed to cover a large space like the garden, as well as additional structures, furniture, dance floor, sound reinforcement, and other technical elements.

Now, if your budget allows, this is without a doubt the most spectacular option. Right by the sea, with the bay in the background, and a setting that no terrace —no matter how good the view— can match.

Unlimited party time: another reason to choose La Divina Pastora for weddings

One of the biggest advantages of getting married at La Divina Pastora is that the garden is secluded—no nearby neighbors, no noise restrictions, no curfews. Here, the music won’t bother anyone.

Many venues impose strict limits, but at this one, we’ve seen the sun rise more than once. Long weddings are trending—especially in destination weddings.

It’s also a popular choice for weddings with large orchestras that need venues where they can play without worrying about volume limits.

Extra tip: Plan your ceremony schedule carefully

The garden at La Divina Pastora doesn’t offer shaded areas, so it’s essential to plan the ceremony time based on the sunset. If guests arrive too early, they’ll be exposed to the sun; if it starts too late, you’ll miss the charm of the golden hour.

Here, being on time directly impacts the experience.

Frequently asked questions about weddings at La Divina Pastora

Is there a minimum number of guests required to book La Divina Pastora privately?

More than a minimum number of guests, what is currently required is a minimum spend for the restaurant to close and the space to be booked privately. This minimum spend is usually around 5,000 USD and is calculated based on the number of guests and the selected menu. Menu prices range from 34 to 46 USD per person, and open bar options start at 12 USD per person per hour.

Is it mandatory to book the restaurant privately to have a wedding?

It depends. If the wedding logistics interfere with the restaurant’s regular operations—because of setup, service level, or space arrangement—then yes, privatization will be necessary. La Divina Pastora is one of Havana’s most privileged venues, but it also requires a significant investment to work properly and ensure a smooth experience.

Is the quality of the food at the event the same as at the restaurant?

No. The event menu is different and of a higher standard. The wedding and event gastronomy at La Divina Pastora is based on a specific menu designed for groups, and it is previously tasted with the couple or the organizers. Options range from plated dinners to food stations, depending on the style of the wedding.

Is there public transportation or easy access to La Divina Pastora?

No. La Divina Pastora is located right at the exit of the Havana tunnel, in an area with no direct access to public transportation or available taxi stands. Although it's not far from the city center, it's an isolated area, so it's recommended to arrange transportation for guests, both to arrive and return after the event.

Should I be concerned about electricity at La Divina Pastora?

No. La Divina Pastora is connected to the electrical circuit of the Havana Tunnel, a prioritized area where power outages are extremely rare. In addition, it has its own backup generator. Energy will not be an issue, neither during the ceremony nor at the party.
