Giada and Gorke: A destination wedding in the beautiful Casa de Al Capone, Varadero
In the beautiful Casa de Al Capone in Varadero, Giada and Gorke celebrated their union in a wedding that combined Italian and Cuban traditions, surrounded by their loved ones who traveled from various places to join them.
Varadero was the perfect setting for this destination wedding, not only for its unparalleled beauty but also for its personal connection to Gorke. This iconic destination is where he grew up and worked as a lifeguard, marking important milestones in his life. Moreover, it was the location of Giada’s first trip to Cuba, a key moment in their love story. Celebrating their wedding here added deep and emotional significance to every moment of the day.
The arrival of the guests was an unforgettable experience. They were transported in elegant vintage cars to an area near the Casa de Al Capone, where they were welcomed by the live music of a saxophone, marking the beginning of a day filled with magic.
The ceremony took place in front of a beach with incredibly blue waters, which, with its tranquility and deserted appearance, seemed reserved just for them. One of the most meaningful moments was the Prayer of the Faithful, where thanks were given to Jesus, according to Giada’s faith, and Santa Bárbara – Changó, Gorke’s protector, was invoked to bless their union. This gesture not only symbolized the harmony between both traditions but also highlighted how cultural differences became a strength for the couple.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed tropical cocktails served in coconuts and pineapples while sharing hugs, dancing barefoot on the sand, and taking group photos, capturing the relaxed and special essence of the day. As gifts, they received hats and wooden fans personalized by hand with their names, a useful and elegant touch, perfect for outdoor weddings in warm climates.
The celebration began at noon and lasted until late into the night. During this day, guests enjoyed an exceptional gastronomic experience led by Iván Chef Justo, a renowned Havana restaurant that relocated to Varadero along with our team to provide exclusive service. In addition to a delicious lunch, there were dessert tables, coffee and cigar stations, and even a late-night snack to end the event on a high note.
The decoration, both for the ceremony and the dinner, was tropical and lush, fulfilling Giada’s wish to highlight Cuba’s natural richness and beauty. Vibrant colors, natural elements, and carefully designed details created an atmosphere that perfectly harmonized with the surroundings.
The coordination of this wedding was a successful example of international collaboration. Our team worked together with Giada’s trusted travel agency to ensure that every detail reflected the couple’s wishes and to create a unique and unforgettable experience for all the guests.
